Applications for Fast Stream 2025/2026 will open from midday on 09th October 2025
There are 17 different schemes on the Fast Stream, each with high-quality, structured learning and a career path within a government profession.
Many schemes involve working in different government departments, some involve working overseas and most provide an opportunity to study for a professional qualification. Fast streamers cannot choose their department or their specific role. However, we endeavour to meet location preferences wherever possible.Â

Houses of Parliament graduate scheme
The Houses of Parliament (HOP) Graduate Scheme is not part of the Civil Service Fast Stream, but you can apply for it alongside the Fast Stream as one of your three preferences.
On this scheme, you’ll be based in either the House of Commons or the House of Lords. You can express a preference at final interview if you’d like and we’ll do our best to take it into account. You’ll be employed directly by whichever House you work for, rather than the Civil Service.
