This goal is being achieved by transforming the commercial capability across the UK, the public sector buys goods and services worth over £300 billion pounds every year – from tanks and satellites to IT equipment and medical supplies.

And we go further in public procurement, using our collective spending power to deliver social, economic and environmental benefits for our citizens.

Public procurement in the UK, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales buys goods and services from a large number of suppliers, from small and medium enterprises and social enterprises to large companies. We have commercial and procurement colleagues working across the four nations of the UK, all delivering great outcomes for our security, our environment and our public services that we all use.

The GCF are transforming public procurement, the Cabinet Office has announced that the Procurement Act 2023 will commence 24 February 2025.
