Competitive Pay Reward
- For all new employees joining GCO, you will join on our specialist GCO terms and conditions. The salary range is significantly higher than the Civil Service equivalent. The GCO pay bands span from £74,340 to £228,000.
- Alternatively, those joining us from across government can choose to retain their existing Civil Service pension and move onto our Civil Service equivalent bands, which range from £62,988 to £208,100.
- Each year, we conduct an Annual Pay Award process to assess and implement changes to pay bands, including potential increases to consolidated base salaries and non-consolidated payments. While adjustments can be made, please note that they are not guaranteed.
- Concord pension scheme.,You will contribute 5% of your pensionable pay, with an additional 3% contribution from GCO. This means a total of 8% is being invested towards your retirement.
- Performance-Related Pay (PRP). Eligible CL and ACS staff can earn up to 15% of their base salary in PRP annually, with CS and SCS staff qualifying for up to 20%. This benefit is exclusive to those on GCO terms. Eligibility Criteria are subject to annual review and may change. Currently, eligibility depends on your ADC outcome, GCO start date, compliance with performance management processes, and achievements against individual and organisational targets.

- Professional development is a priority we take seriously.  You’ll receive support from Executive Coaches, with L&D options including Executive and Career Coaching programmes, Talent Conversations, coaching skills training and access to the GCF Mentoring Programme platform.
- Talent pools are available where you’ll have the opportunity to move into different roles across anywhere in government, expanding on your experience and taking your career to the next level.
- You’ll join a community of like-minded individuals with a broad range of government experience, providing vast networking and peer learning opportunities through national senior speaker events and more.

Work Life Balance
- As part of our terms, you are entitled to 25 days of annual leave, in addition to 8 public holidays and one privilege leave day for the King’s Official Birthday (all on a pro-rata basis for part-time employees). Furthermore, you may have the option to purchase up to 5 additional days of leave, allowing for further flexibility in planning your time off.
- We recognise that our employees have priorities beyond work. To support your unique needs, you can request a range of working patterns to honour this, including part-time, compressed hours, job sharing, part-year, annualised hours and flexible working-time, which allows you to work your contractual hours more flexibly.
- We promote a hybrid working model, requiring 60% office attendance monthly. This arrangement allows you to balance your work commitments with personal priorities.

Health & Wellbeing

- You can claim for an eye test once every 12 months, up to a maximum cost of £30, and another test within a 12-month period if the Optician states that another is required. You can claim £50 towards glasses or contact lenses where the Optician states they are required for daily working.
- You can claim reimbursement for a flu jab, up to a maximum of £20, helping you take preventive measures to stay healthy.
