Eilidh’s story
Eilidh’s journey with SLC began in 2021 as a People Support Assistant in Glasgow. A year later, she joined the Graduate Programme, gaining experience across the People directorate in teams such as Reward, Organisational Development and Learning, and People Advisory. This exposure helped her build confidence, broaden her knowledge, and clarify her career focus within HR.
In August 2024, Eilidh secured a permanent role as People Advisor, drawing on the skills and insights developed through the Graduate Programme and her previous experience. She has since been accepted onto SLC’s Aspiring Leaders Programme—a 12-month programme designed to develop leadership skills and prepare participants for future opportunities across the organisation.

Eilidh said:
“The Graduate Programme was instrumental in helping me decide where I wanted to focus my career within HR. It gave me the confidence and clarity to pursue a role in People Advisory. The skills I developed prepared me well for the challenges of the role. It also laid the foundation for my acceptance onto the Aspiring Leaders Programme, which I’m currently undertaking to further develop my SLC career.”
