Amanda’s story
Amanda joined SLC in 2018 as part of the Desktop Support Team. With a background in project support, she worked in various related roles, before she changed her career with an opportunity in the Commercial Team, in 2022. Since joining the team, she used SLC’s Career Pathways to develop her skills and was successfully promoted to Commercial Specialist at the end of last year.
She said: “Joining the Commercial Team was one of the best decisions I have made. My career development wouldn’t have been possible without the support and mentorship from colleagues. Their guidance has been instrumental in my development and helping me advance my SLC career. I am excited to continue to contribute to the Commercial Team’s success and ultimately support SLC customers.”
Through SLC, Amanda is working toward her Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply qualifications. In addition to her own learning, Amanda has taken on a mentorship role, supporting colleagues in their personal and professional development within SLC.
Amanda’s passion for learning doesn’t stop there. As a member of the Army Reserves, she recently completed her Warrant Officer Course, demonstrating her commitment to continuous improvement.
