TechTrack

TechTrack is the Government’s latest digital upskilling apprenticeship programme

A unique opportunity to join the Government Digital and Data community leading digital transformation across the country.

The UK Government is embarking on an ambitious digital transformation of public services as outlined in the blueprint for a modern digital government released earlier this year.

Alongside the reskilling of thousands of existing civil servants, TechTrack, our innovative digital apprenticeship programme, is at the heart of a commitment to ensure we have the critical skills needed to revolutionise public services through technology – generating opportunities nationwide and delivering tangible benefits to citizens.

This bespoke programme emphasises the integration of Artificial Intelligence, modern digital skills and leadership, responding to the critical digital skills needed across the country.

TechTrack is an advanced Level 4 apprenticeship with each role offering clear progression opportunities within key government departments, with many apprentices going on to secure permanent positions and build rewarding careers.

The apprenticeship is focused on four crucial roles within all the departments in the Civil Service, including:

  • Business Analyst
  • Software Developer
  • DevOps Engineer
  • Cyber Security Technologist (Risk)

The programme is targeting the training and retaining of a sustainable and diverse digital workforce, capable of meeting the demands of our ever-evolving public services.

Revolutionising digital apprenticeships

TechTrack, led by the Government Digital Service isn’t just another apprenticeship programme – it’s a ground-breaking initiative designed to address the most critical digital skills gaps across all departments in government, and is a unique opportunity to join the growing Government Digital and Data community of experts transforming ordinary peoples’ lives through talent, hard work and technology.

Apprentices earn a competitive salary while gaining valuable qualifications and real-world experience. They won’t just be learning theory – they’ll be putting skills into practice from day one, developing the skills needed to lead digital transformation projects, learning how to guide teams, influence decisions, and shape the future of government services.
