You would automatically be enrolled into the Civil Service Pension Scheme, offering the choice of an attractive occupational pension or stakeholder pension. The Civil Service Pension offers benefits for dependants and employer contributions of 28.97%.

If you are a working parent, under the government’s Tax-Free Childcare (TFC) scheme, you can open an online childcare account and for every £8 you pay in, the government adds £2, up to a maximum of £2,000 a year for each child or £4,000 for a disabled child. You then use the funds to pay for registered childcare. Existing employees may be able to continue to claim childcare vouchers, so please check how the policy would work for you here: www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/
